Our state is not a safe place for LGBTQ people, or women. I have so many LGBTQ friends who have left SC. Just be really careful, wherever you go. At the end of the day it’s South Carolina, so you’ll probably get some looks and it wouldn’t surprise me if someone throws a comment or two your way.
We believe in respecting one another’s dignity and differences. The City is strengthened by the diversity of its residents, employees, and visitors. We aim to foster an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds, orientations, and identities feel safe, respected, and represented.
