Gay marriage alberta

Same-sex marriage has been legal in Alberta since July 20, upon the granting of royal assent to the federal Civil Marriage Act.[1] Alberta was one of the four Canadian provinces and territories where same-sex marriage had not been legalised before the enactment of the federal law, along with Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territories.
Same-sex marriage in Alberta is legal. The Civil Marriage Act was passed at a federal level, overriding provincial marriage law. There was no recognition of same-sex marriage in Alberta before the federal ruling. Censorship of LGBT issues in Alberta is no censorship.
